Bringing Joy To Older Adults
Thank you for visiting our website. We are currently raising funds to build a community center in the Cypress area for seniors. Additionally, we are looking for other nonprofits organizations or business partners to join us in our mission to bring joy to older adults through their talents, services or financial contributions.
Who We Are
Who We Serve
Joy of Living Club serves, Independent, functional seniors over 60 years of age, who are:
Physically
- Able to eat and drink on their own
- Able to walk and exercise with limits set by MDs
- If homebound, they are able to use Senior Card Rides/Metro lifts/Carpool/ have a family member drop them off at the Center
- If clients have a mobility impairment, they should only need supervision assistance
- Clients may have the followings DMEs:
- Cane, rollator walker, wheelchair or motorized wheelchair/scooter
- Clients must be able to use the bathroom by themselves
- Clients may have the followings DMEs:
Cognitively
- Functional individuals as determined by a cognitive screening tool such as the MoCA test
- May have a medical diagnosis of MILD cognitive impairment/dementia/early Parkinson’s
Emotionally/Mentally
- Willing to come and participate in activities
- Clients may have a psychiatric diagnosis of dysthymia, depression, and/or anxiety
- Be compliant with their medications
